CAM RESTREPO

        Having earned a BFA at Montclair State University for Visual Arts, I am currently attending for a Masters in Computer Science. Working to learn all kinds of trades and crafts available to me, I focue on materiality to lead content. As an interdisciplinary artist, I currently work most closely with ceramics, 3D printing, and fiber arts. Leaning toward 3dimensional art as the viewer doesn’t look at something straight on but rather from all kinds of perspectives. Also using mediums like printmaking, gouache, oil, and pastels I work to transform the medium into 3D forms, creating tools for texture and pigment. Often I use text to create a dialogue between the piece and viewer, exploring themes of conscious and unconscious thought. With a strong belief that art is meant to make you feel something, I will continue to learn forms of craft that help me best convey the intent of my art.
